Been at my company for 15 years. Started there straight out of college. Never really considered leaving til now, but figured market is high and I'd see what's out there. Had a bunch of friends who left and getting 30%-40% raises. Some come back and then get another 10%-20%. Got an interview at a competitor Friday afternoon.

Interview have really changed. When I got the job I have, it was an all-day, on-site interview for a job that paid around a third of what this one does. Now it's a half-hour chat on zoom...crazy!

I'd be fine finding out that the job I have is fantastic and there's no reason to consider leaving. I just think I'd regret not at least checking around on things. Any publicly traded corporation is going to have a similar set of challenges (mgmt focused on profits instead of products), but it does seem like we've taken that to a new level since we were bought out in 2019.

I had one interview with Gas Monkey. They asked me if I knew what a palindrome was, and give an example. I said boob and they handed me some shirts. Lol.

be sure the bar is not in the background and no beer cans on the desk.

block dereks number while on the zoom call.

at the end, remind them the president gets paid over 400,000.00 a yr. and you have an iq at least 10 times higher.

I’ve never had a job interview. I’ve never even filled out an application or made a resume lol. I should do that sometime just to see how bad I could screw it up.

Last job interview was 30 years ago, I have created my own jobs since.
