I mowed...push mowed, that is...at 6 p.m. yesterday after I got home from work. I'm 61. It was hot, but it's hot fishing or doing anything else in the summer. It's been that way all my life in East Texas so I guess I take it for granted and move on.

While taking my morning dump at 5:55AM this morning I faintly heard the whine of a weedeater a 1/8th of a mile away. I finished up my paperwork and hopped in my truck to find the perpetrator. Turns out it was a 70 y/o but I let her know that this madness has to stop. She needed to wait till noon to be using that noisemaker.

Yard work before 6:00 will not be tolerated. Not on my watch.

Great candidate for an HOA board position here.

I am not built to live in an HOA nor serve on one. Hell I sucked as a TFF moderator. I would be even worse on an HOA board. People who enjoy being told what to do and how to live are the ones who need that BS.... roflmao

F-16s fly over my house before 7 Am.
Railroad 1/2 mile away , train whistle blows all hours day and night.
My neighbor's cows bellowing before 7AM.

What should I do? Call the Pentagon, call BNSF, tell my neighbor to muzzle his cattle? I'm really stressing out.

GOD is good!

I told her that I didn't care if she had a pacemaker, arthritic knees and osteoporosis laden hips that by God she was creating a ruckus and interfering with everyone else's sleep time and peaceful oatmeal eating. Someone had to step up and save this neighborhood.

Wait, so you mean to tell me that if it rains on your horse Bermuda, it grows, but if it doesn’t get rain it goes dormant?!?! That’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard.

If you add fertilizer to horse Bermuda during a no rain period, nothing happens. It’s more nuanced. The horse Bermuda sweet spot appears to be adding fertilizer PLUS water.

1) This is not an endorsement as have never tried it Ghost…whoever you are.
2) I maintain my previously requested “No PM’s please” stance S4B.

I enjoy yard work in the mid day heat. Good workout. Just got done mowing myself. My wife is sick with covid and having problems sleeping. I gotta go against the grain on this one. Someone fired up a mower next door to me at 6 this morning they would have gotten an arse chewing. Im always awake early as well as her but anything before 7 is rude. You don't know if people work nights, are sick, elderly, its just common courtesy.... 7 am is common courtesy and our cities ordinance any way.

Reasonable take.

I do enjoy this forum a lot. That's why I spend so much time here. That said, I get a laugh out of how often people become seemingly outraged by the most obscure things, like someone else in another part of the state being upset about noise outside his house at 6 a.m. The comments range from questioning his manhood to saying we should get his address and send crews to his house at all hours of the night...just because.

I think J.P. should consider renaming it the Dog Pile. Woof.

OT is a fun place. Great to pass time! I don't think many mean any harm and personally I don't give a damn what people think about me. I stopped caring a while back and life has never been better

To be completely honest I'm surprised that there is anyone in grand prairie home at 6am to get mad about a mowing crew because I thought everyone in grand Prairie worked on a mowing crew..... who knew
