Hope they don't need a fire rescue outside of normal business hours.

In this heat wave, I’m just thankful my lawn guys show up at all. 6am is fine with me if it makes their life a little easier.

I bet if you were the one doing the mowing, it would be an option.

If you ran my lawn crew off because they were starting at 6:00 a.m. in this heat, then you and I would have a discussion for sure.

Last year, we had concrete crews pouring slabs at 0230 in the middle of the week. The people close to this site were pissed to say the least.

Let’s be honest, they aren’t mowing at 6am to avoid the heat, they mow from 6am to 9pm to get more yards done. I promise you they are still mowing during the heat of the day, they don’t take off at noon.

Yup. If they want to mow from 6am to 9pm, fine by me. However, if there is a local ordinance or HOA guideline that restricts the hours of mowing, then they should abide by those rules.

One of the biggest misconceptions in our industry right now. Maybe 15-17 yrs ago when I started.

We will get started sometimes at 6 and be onsite at 6:30 only on commercial properties. Sometimes my crews will skip lunch to finish early. They will work till 5 but most of the time try to get back to the shop around 4 and on their way home at 4:30.

Road construction crews work at night and early morning.
If you have decent windows I don’t see (or hear) the problem.

They are trying to avoid heat, but it's impossible.

Everyone knows there is no full-time crew that only works until noon.

Those guys out cutting grass work until dinner-time, hoping, hoping that no neighbor will come out and complain because they disturbed their sleep. Those crews are just hoping to "experience" as little of the "hottest" parts of the day, but they can't. Starting at 6 am is just like wearing a wet bandana around your neck in the heat. It's minimal in extreme heat, but every little bit helps.

Good grief, I'm shocked to be in a fishing forum and there are members complaining about what "blue-collar" workers have to do to get through the day.
It's tantamount to complaining about a fishermen on a boat catching the early bass at 6 am.
