I don't know about records being broken but this weather is like a broken record. The forecast is the same as the day before for the next 10 days and so on...

MERCY - not receiving what you deserve
GRACE - receiving what you don't deserve
America's MESS = God's miracle fixes
I'd rather walk with God with no questions answered than to walk thru life without Him and know the answers

1980 was brutal!

There was a 42-day string of 100 degree days. It was broken for one day and started again. When the summer was over there had been 69 days with 100 degrees or over. Two of those days got to 113! And this was the actual temps. I don't think the heat index was a thing back then.

Family is everything!

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

Yeah I remember it well pretty brutal. We had some brutal winters not far off that year either.

I was a young 27 in 1980. Spent the day installing garage doors.
If it was 110 outside it was 125 inside the garage when the door was stacked. If the hole in the ceilling to the attic was not closed you could feel the heat coming down from above.

8 doors a day, 5 and 6 days a week.

Same age. I was doing HVAC ! I could take it in those days.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Yes it’s hot, but I prefer it over very cold all day.

Remember that summer my car ac did not work. I wore shorts and a tee shirt to go to happy hour at the club I liked to go to. I would change clothes in the parking garage before I went in. Half into that heat wave I was able to have the ac replaced best $500 I ever spent.

The day the streak ended it rained in Dallas. I remember because it was the day of my job interview with Texas Instruments and my first trip to Texas.

I remember 1980 Summer very well and most nights during the Rangers games in the old, old Stadium they would report
the temp was still 100 degrees at the end of the game.

We seem to be on-track for a 1980 or 2011 summer

“It's official. The summer of 1980 is no longer the hottest on record in North Texas.

After a run of more than 30 years, the legacy of the "Summer of '80" died just before 1 p.m. Tuesday when the temperature reached 100 degrees at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport for the 70th time this season.

The previous record of 69 days, set in 1980 of course, was tied on Monday.”

From 2011
