Mt Wife insists on doing garbage recycling, so when our last waste disposal company stopped doing it, we looked around for another company. There aren't that many companies that do recycling in our area, so when we found Texas Pride, we signed up with them. I my neighborhood, they are supposed to pick up garbage on Tuesday and Friday and recycling on Friday. They were pretty good in the beginning, but ever since Covid struck, they have been terrible. At least once a month, they send out an email apologizing for the inconvenience of not being able to pick up the garbage on the scheduled days. Some weeks they are late, but this last week, they didn't pick up at all. You can never get these people on the phone, and they do not reply to voice mails. The biggest hassle with this company is that they never give you a credit for days missed. I know; I have all of their past bills.
At this point, I don't care if the company president, vice president, secretary and janitor have to jump in a garbage truck and get after it. I want to get what I am paying for.

Should leave the decisions about cooking, cleaning and inside the house type things to the wife.

Go back to your old service and separate out the recycling. Then, have your wife carry the recyclables down to the local recycling center as needed. Let her decide what items really don't need to be recycled that can go into the regular trash. Problem will solve itself.

We used to have a recycling program here until it was discovered the recycle bins were being dumped at the city landfill,. No more recycling.

If they don't pick it up this week they get a double load next week. Minor inconvenience, but you are getting what you pay for. Getting and keeping workers is a problem for everyone.

I wonder if those companies don't just drop it all off at some dump?

No, I am not and their labor problems ARE NOT my concern. We have a contract together. I do not pay them WHEN I CAN. Just supposed this was about house cleaning. Would cleaning twice as much whenever it could be done be the same service?

We used to have a recycling program here until it was discovered the recycle bins were being dumped at the city landfill,. No more recycling. This is really the simple answer. Recycling is lip service to the masses but it pretty much all goes into the landfill. It’s too costly and time consuming. In California plastic manufacturer’s are required to use a % of old plastic but none of the Companies are doing that.

Huntsville was so proud when they rolled out their recycling program. Except they don't recycle glass.

Know them well, as a developer in and around your area I have seen them fired by 2 MUD Boards last year. We moved in April and what do I see on the neighbors trash cans, Texas Pride. Now I’m experiencing what our customers were so mad about. They take contracts they know they can’t handle, and juggle the most angry customers.

We have Tx Pride too. It's through our neighborhood so don't have a choice. They are spotty at best. I've had decent luck getting updates using the online chat function on their website. Previously had Waste Management who were pretty good, but I understand they wanted out of the residential business in this area.
