I had just sit down to order one of these; just before I tore up my power poles, as part of my Father's Day and there's one of these in red on the way. I just wondered how many of you have one of these on your trolling motor and your opinion of the product. My boat has what appears to be the original Fortrex on it and at higher speeds its pretty loud. I'm sure the newer Fortrex TM's are probably a lot quieter. Just trying to get rid of some viberation and noise. I read the reviews and they seemed pretty favorable on this. I'd like to know from the folks on here. I've learned over the years that some manufacturers will go out and stuff the reviews on their products. You guys are REAL WORLD.

Gimmick even though I have one. In my defense it was on the boat when I bought it. Not sure if it was posted on here or another site but there’s a YouTube video out there comparing it to the stock nut by recording the tm noise under water while in use. No noticeable difference. If your tm is loud at higher speeds it’s most likely the prop.

I have one on my Ultrex. Doesn't hurt anything and may cut down on some vibration. The only issue I know of is that they will fade over time.

red turns pink over time. personal experience. I just ordered a black one for my Ghost. Only because they last prop nut seized on the shaft. Couldnt find a brass nylon lock nut for it yesterday so I just ordered the TH Marine for it. And it it easier to take off on the water when my trolling motor decides to eat my line on spotlock. LOL! livescoping under the boat for whitebass/hybrids is pretty fun!

I have one and have had them on last few boats. I don't buy into the sound reduction. I like them as they allow quick access and no tools needed to change props, get line off prop and the way they look.

It was also on my boat when I bought it. If it eliminates vibration and noise - I havent seen a difference. Looks cool - if you like pink anodized finishes. Does make it easier to pull the prop to check for line, etc - if you have a big pair 0f channel locks handy.

kipewa prop will reduce a lot of the noise unless the shaft is bent or something else is causing it. you won't need to run it on as high a speed and batteries will last longer. had one on my fortrex 80 and another on my fortrex 112, excellent prop for tm. https://www.kipawapropellers.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html

If your tm is loud at higher speeds it’s most likely the prop. Feel the same. Gimmick. And the red ones fade to pink pretty fast. Best thing to do is get a new prop and buy a lawn mower blade balancer. Balance the new prop by shaving the heavy side with a file until it’s balanced. There will be no noise then. The prop nut weight will mark the noises a little, and then the seals on the prop shaft will wear out from the added weight. Then you get to buy a new prop that is attached to a new trolling motor.

Bought one when I had a fortrex, waste of money. Yeah it’s easier to remove the prop, but I have never needed to do that while on the water.

Another thing -- IF you ever hit something hard enough to break the sheer pin or strip the prop hub where the sheer pin sits you cant remove the G force without drilling a hole in the end.

Just reach down and turn it by hand. I think tbis is the 4thboat I have had with one on it. I have yet to have first issue with it wearing out TM seals etc.

Hell, you’ve probably never had to change an impeller!

There are versions of them on Amazon as well that work great. I bought a silver chrome one on there this time and it has not faded in the 18 months I have had it.

I was never able to hear any prop noise over all the other squeaking and screeching from a fortrex.
