The redhead and I are enjoying a special coffee recipe:
1) Brew the coffee 2) Pour into pot on the stovetop, along with wood chips, CLEAN eggshells, and a small piece of split vanilla bean. 3) Heat to steaming, but not boiling. 4) Pour through a coffee filter to remove any particles of eggshell, small bits of wood, etc. 5) Serve with honey and heavy cream and enjoy!
The wood chips must be food grade obviously - we're using hickory right now. Will experiment with mesquite, etc., along the way. Can also put some cinnamon, nutmeg, etc., into the coffee grounds before brewing. Wood chips? I’ve never heard of that before. Smoked coffee?

The wood chips and eggshell remove the bitterness, and yes, you get a 'smoky' aroma and flavor added in.
