Has anyone of you" Banglers" ever fished or considered fishing this area just off Hebron Pkwy & Lakepoint Drive in Lewisville Tx? With a concrete walkway that starts a few yards from the small ramp and extends well past what appears to be a couple somewhat dilapidated fishing docks/piers still in tact ,I would think the fishing potential would be great here!..btw: I would`nt venture out on neither of those things though

Used to be an old marina for boat sales. Now just a lot of trash. LOTS of fish in that lake. I have only caught bass and mud cats. Careful around those trees if you go fish it at night. Snakes tend to fall out of them. I have experienced it 3x already. Harmless watersnakes I believe, but I had to change my undies each time it happened. Also, be careful fishing out there at night as some of the others that go there are not there to fish. I have watched a few drug deals, hook ups and commercial vehicles dumping trash.
At night I will typically fish from the boat ramp, but I pack a nice piece with me at all times.
I have always wanted this to be a good carp hole, but I just haven't had the luck like I do down the road from here.

I’ve fished there from the yak and the shore. It’s 30’ deep in most parts. The old marina area is full of trash. I’ve never snagged so many lures in my life.
Decent fish though.

I've tried the marina docks on that structure part many many times. Like above, snags galore. Never caught anything decent over there. I've only had luck at the boat ramp and by the outlet going under Hebron. The rest of the area is fenced up with the apartments.
You could walk to the north side but it's a LONG walk from anywhere you can park officially.

Used to be incredible. Up until about seven years ago, it had hydrilla growing as deep as 15 feet (from 12 feet it would reach the surface) My guess is that the Trinity river flooding in 2015 introduced a grass carp or two into that lake (and others around it). Within six months of the flooding, not a strand of hydrilla survived.
Still some good fish in there, but much harder to catch (used to be relatively easy fishing the grass edges, ticking the top of the grass, and holes in the grass)

Yeah, definitely still nice ones in there. That flooding brought in some sand bass, too. Probably affected the food chain. I randomly pulled out a chunker 15 inch sand bass from there last month.

I`ve looked at Google Maps and don`t see what waters when flooded would bring Sand bass to this area. I would think the ELM FORK of the Trinity would be too far away to do so. That must have been one H E double hockey sticks, Noah type of a flood!

That golf course under water for a couple months. The red arrows in the second pic is how the little ponds are connected. That's how the new fish got into this area

The very south end of Timber Creek continuously connects the Elm Fork of the Trinity with that entire Hebron canal and gravel pit system.

Water was running over Hebron for days. The road was totally closed. That whole area was basically underwater. That brought in the grass carp. The sandies were already there but again they are not there in big numbers.
The fish find a way. Anything that is in the Trinity is likely in any pond, canal, creek etc. that is within a mile of the river. Or even in a water body that is only once every 5-10 years somehow connected via a flood event.
