I've got a vehicle that has not really been driven since the start of COVID, and the registration expired in 2020.
I am selling that vehicle to a private party. Is there going to be an issue for him when he transfers registration into his name?

As long as you have clean title, shouldn't be a problem. DMV will ask whether the vehicle has been on the roads since the tag expired.

Np , remember to remove license plates And toll tag, if applicable. Also - there is a form you can complete online letting DMV know when you sold the car - can prevent potential issues with new owner.

It will need an inspection prior to registration. He should know that.

There is also a form you can fill out and send in to remove you from the vehicle registration. If your selling a low dollar vehicle a registration and inspection with months left can be a bid deal to the buyer.

I sold a vehicle and sent it in and a year later I got a certified letter from an impound yard.
