I posted this Thread in a couple other sections on the forum earlier and was wondering if any of you " YAKERS" have ever fished this area just off Hebron Pkwy & Lakepoint drive in Lewisville? It looks very fishy on the north end with all the structure that`s left on this Pond/Lake. hmmm coolio [Linked Image]

I have not, but I have often wondered the same about this pond. I posted the same question several years ago and received a few responses that the pond is "OK", not great.

Saying this, give it a try and report your findings... it has all the markings of a good little urban spot.

My son went a couple of weeks ago. He caught a 1 pounder and a 1.5 pounder... the 1.5 pounder had the head of a 2+ pounder.

It was hotter than Hades when he went... it might be better in the spring or fall.

He said that there is a lot of 20' deep water. This is a good sign for a small urban pond.

That`s GREAT info Mike@972! I stumbled across this water one day while driving through the lewisville area & I would think it should have a Crappie fishery also with 20 ft deep water. I learned from a TFFer that it also has sunken structure in it. I have a small two man boat and I think i`ll try it in the cooler months of year. coolio

Probably should cull some of those small LMB.

I live fairly close. Fished it dozens of times over the years. Not recently though. Never caught big bass but caught a 14-15 crappie on a squarebill once.. There are sand bass in there too. It goes under the Hebron and is a big pond.

Used to be filled with Hydrilla so thick you could walk on it. Had FAT bass in it.

After the floods grass carp got into those ponds. Not a shred of grass left. There are fish there but its not a hot spot or must hit spot. The fish are skinny now and stunted. Its a big deep bowl. Most of the water is 35 feet deep. There are crappie, bass a few sandies. And grass carp. Thanks a lot flood.

I use to fish that hole a lot when I lived in Lewisville. What the guy said about the hydrilla kill is right on. I didn't know it was from carp but still the same result. I know from the map and everything it looks like a smashing spot! In real life it's very underwhelming. That was about 5 years ago I fished over there. It's still a nice place to relax and fish, just keep expectations low. I lived there about 4 years and mostly ended up fishing park ponds or hitting the bank somewhere on Lake Lewisville.
