Filled up the pontoon this weekend at the marina. Boat is in a slip (I don't have a trailer) so I have to get gas on the water. $7 per gallon of regular unleaded. 35 gallons and almost $250 later.....put my kids on a diet so they aren't as heavy on the float tubes being dragged behind the boat.

Pretty sad state of affairs when half the country was willing to vote for this knowing exactly what you would get. Unfortunately, mid-terms won't fix it but just make him a lame duck, but nothing will get fixed until 2024. It's going to get much worse so hang on.

Id agree....but I also hear a lot of people were financing boats with low payments. So some of those rigs may be parked more often nowadays 🤔

But id agree. If you dropped that kinda cash on both of those things, im sure the gas isnt much of an issue

i think even the Brandon voters are feeling the pain now....some may not admit it, but the facebook political experts seem to have gone dark on my timeline the last couple months.

Its definitely going to get worse...i really dont even think we've glimpsed the bottom much less got past it. Jerome Powell raising the rate 3/4 of a point isnt gonna bring gas prices down, not gonna bring back that $75 grocery bill instead of the $100+ grocery bill.

I dont fish much....but i do wonder if people are "limiting the fun" the way Bass Buster put it. It wasnt the sole reason I didnt fish this week...but it did factor into the thinking when it never has before. Damn economy! LOL

I have become spoiled going to Mexico and only run this boat once a month to move gas through it. That is costly for a half day run, even close to home. Although I have not gone up on my trips to Mexico in the Spring. It is still $1,500 for 6 days of fishing which takes care of all expenses per person. Conside this as a 11 day vacation. If you have a boat you can follow me.

Plus I have to put a little more fuel in the truck after the round trip for the rest of the week to work, especially after towing the boat. I always say, a day trip to the lake right now is roughly a $250 day. Hasn't stopped me but what has is all the house projects I have been getting done this summer. It was just time to take a summer and focus on these things and stop putting them off. New fencing, moving irrigation line, and concrete pours for a new patio have taken priority..... One day I will get to go fishing again.

That's what I'm saying... LOL. Coming from Houston, closest halfway decent lake to fish to is Livingston. $80 to fill up my truck (twice most likely, depending on the wind), well over $100 in the boat, food, drinks, etc... That's a $250 day right now to go fish a mudhole... lol. No thanks. My boat hasn't moved in quite some time

In case you guys haven’t heard, we are saved! PeeBrain “wrote” a stern letter to 7 oil companies. balloons

I’ll never stop, might fish closer though; but that would sure suck.

I am thankful that I live about 3 minutes from a boat ramp on a pretty damn good lake. Lots of fish to be caught near the ramp as well.

Here’s my solution to high gas prices.

1-Get your cat. Converter stolen from your truck, truck in shop for who knows how long
2-Own a boat
3-Have a couple buddies that have trucks but no boats
4-Invite said buddies to go fishing
5-They drive their trucks and provide the truck fuel
6-I provide the boat and boat gas and fish close to the ramp

I'm with you--I can afford the gas to drive to the lake of my choice, but absolutely hate spending twice the amount for gas that I did only 1 year ago. Really bothers me, and so I am making lake choices based on driving distances at this time.

I've been fishing the Sabine River every week and having a good time catching schooling and marsh bass. Ramp is 10 minutes from house and my 4 stroke SHO sips fuel. Probably wait til fall to fish Toledo or Rayburn unless prices get worse.

Mine is whoever voted for this idiot should have to pay $9 a gallon and those who voted for a great economy and common sense pay $2.50 a gallon. Let them live with what they voted for.
