I am headed to Rockport for fathers day weekend. Bringing the kayak and planning to hit the pier at Goose Island state park. Driven thru but never stayed or fished in Rockport. Any help would be appreciated. I am leaving the Kenner home as gas prices are insane. Thanks for any help!

Jim Ford may have mentioned this. Google "Aransas Pathways". There is a printable map and descriptions of 16 kayak launches in Aransas County(Rockport). Aransas Pass (San Patricio County)has about six kayak launches. They used to have a free map that had a trail map of Lighthouse Lakes on the back side. Check with the AP Chamber of Commerce. The kayak launch at Aransas Pass Aquatic Park gets you out to the flats by the ICW. Great fishing. Countless fishing sites. Good luck, be careful, and have fun! IslandJim in Rockport.

Can be brutal depending on the winds. If you stay in the park - on WEEKENDS - beware. It does get crazy just like any other Texas park. https://youtu.be/xepn5n8bn6c

Thanks for the advice. We did launch Kayaks at the Goose Island and had a good time. Easy launch. My daughter and her boy friend did not have anchors so we parked on islands and fished from there. No fish to speak of. The Tide had a super low range. Just my luck. Rockport was very nice!
