In a kayak I’d launch at Mott park and fish the area across from the ramp all the way to the dam-that sandy shoreline to the right has done well for me several times over the years. I really cant speak to the evening’s, later in the day the recreational boaters increase and I bug out if I’m in the kayak- Have you fished lake Clark? It has sandies and channel cat and is a lot more kayak friendly IMO- Good luck whatever you chose and please let us know how it goes-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

I always used Love Park. Fish the bank directly across from the ramp. Follow it around the point all the way to the dam. I’ve caught hybrids schooling early in the morning along that east bank. Also schooling sandies off that point, where the COE office is. I agree about the pleasure boats. Especially on the weekends. Clark is definitely a better option for kayaking. The sandies are huge, if you can get on them. Good Luck
