They were like that in the rice fields of SE Tx when I was growing up. Now it seems most of the birds are short stopped north of the coast. 3-5-10 K bird concentrations were everywhere out in the rice fields. Could cruise the rice field roads and find 3-4 groups a morning and then sneak 'em. If you layed off the edges a couple of hundred yards you could shoot pintails and mallards that would work the large groups too.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

If you layed off the edges a couple of hundred yards you could shoot pintails and mallards that would work the large groups too. back in early 60's I lived in Houston....my brother and i had permission to hunt a rice farm just northeast of katy.......we killed a lot of snow geese and pintalls around a couple of ponds on the ranch.....20 years later,my brother bought a house in a subdivision next to the ranch we had hunted in......
