I have a 2016 Nauticstar 214xts Shallow Bay with a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke that has a 3 blade 19 pitch SS prop. With the motor raised 2" on the jack plate, the max RPM is 5200-5300 at 42 mph with just me in the boat. If I raise the jack plate while running I might be able to get more RPM out of it, but it starts to cavitate. I would think a 19 pitch should be about right for this boat and motor combination, but it doesn't look like it is. I'd like to get around 5800 RPM at WOT. Over memorial day weekend, I had 6 people in the boat with 3/4 of a tank of fuel and fishing gear. While it got on plane, it was definitely slow doing so. I've never owned a boat with a 4 blade prop, would a 17P 4 blade be a better choice? I am not concerned with getting max speed, I am happy with 40 MPH, although I feel that if the motor is turning another 500 RPM, the top speed might not suffer.

I have what is probably the exact hull.2013 21’ Shallow Bay w/ YamF150.I am running a stainless Solas 4 blade 17p.I can only get 40mph @ 5200rpm just me and full tank.I do have a TTop so 40 is tops.Dont really care bout speed but it will absolutely jump out of the water with the trim tabs down and Atlas jack plate on 4 or 5.Typically I run plate on 3 or 4 and cruise about 22mph burning 4.5-5 gph….Hope this helps!

Thanks Tinman03, Our boats sound similar, but I don't have a T-Top or trim tabs. My prop is a 3 blade Solas 3531-140-19

If you like the performance of that prop get a shop to take it down a pitch or more likely two to get you to the rpm’s you want.

I have been in his shop, and he definitely knows his stuff when it comes to props. I did call today and told him the prop, boat and engine I have, he's not a fan of the Solas brand props. He suggested going to a 17 pitch Yamaha prop.

Bump to see if anyone has a used 17 pitch, 15 spline 3 or 4 blade prop for a 4-stroke Yamaha F150LB.
