Headed to beach in Alabama and since we stay right on the beach I am going to buy a license and try some surf fishing. Prefer using artificial and casting. I do not care what I catch, just see others on the beach we stay on catching fish, os I know they are there.
Will a size 30 spinning reel be big enough and 20 pound braid? Rod length? I was thinking some paddle tail swimbaits and kastmaster spoons.
Thanks in advance for any help

Another bait you might try is DOA Shrimp. I've always had good luck throwing them while walking the beach.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
