We are having a family reunion at Texoma in the Buncombe Creek campsites. Is the striper fishing good inside Bumcombe Creek this time of year? I know it’s going to be in the 100’s for highs every day we are there. Do they school up in Bumcombe in the summer?

Thanks in advance for all replies. Trying to find areas close with gas so high. Not really wanting to run all the way to tabletop every day for striper fishing if we can help it.

Valero exit 70 on right by Denison Nissan/Honda usually has the cheapest, last week the loop by Denison Medical a few miles down on the right had $3.99 on Monday, who knows this week?

But do the striper hang out in Buncombe Creek this time of year?

I don’t remember ever doing well in Buncombe this late in the year. Maybe right at the mouth? Fish are hanging were they can get back to deep water fairly quick after the sun gets up. The islands aren’t too far 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes sir. We fish the islands every year. Tabletop is good too, but this trip we will have a pontoon and a bass boat for everyone. The closer the better with gas prices now at $5/gallon. Thanks for the suggestion. We may make that the furthest point. What about the marina and bluffs on the Texas side? Deep enough for them to hang out there?

Always some in the area but they definitely concentrate in the deeper registers of the lake more in the summer
