Came across this, what say you?

Edmunds Dec 6, 2011- A consumer-grade leaf blower emits more pollutants than a 6,200-pound 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, according to tests conducted by Edmunds' InsideLine.com, the premier online resource for automotive enthusiasts.

The tests found that a Ryobi 4-stroke leaf blower kicked out almost seven times more oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and 13.5 times more carbon monoxide (CO) than the Raptor, which InsideLine.com once dubbed "the ultimate Michigan mudslinger." An Echo 2-stroke leaf blower performed even worse, generating 23 times CO and nearly 300 times more non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC) than the Raptor.

"The hydrocarbon emissions from a half-hour of yard work with the two-stroke leaf blower are about the same as a 3,900-mile drive from Texas to Alaska in a Raptor," said Jason Kavanagh, Engineering Editor at Edmunds.com. "As ridiculous as it may sound, it is more 'green' to ditch your yard equipment and find a way to blow leaves using a Raptor."

Didn’t realize the Raptor has been around that long? Geez time flies as you get old frown.

Totally believable.
California used a comparison saying that yard equipment spewed more pollution in their state than all their vehicles.

Lawn equipment does not have any pollution controls on it. I remember back when unleaded and catalytic converters were mandated that they said they took out over 90% of pollutants out of the exhause. Add how much farther we've come since then.

So why are they pushing electric vehicles so hard instead of electric yard equipment?

Electric yard equipment is here now- if you try it you’d probably like it- especially all your small equipment

CA just passed a law two or three weeks ago that in 2023 they can no longer sell gas lawn equiptment.

My son has an electric mower he bought at Lowes. It's not the highest grade one. I think he said it's a 48v. He likes it because it's light and quiet, but he has to do the front, change the battery, then he can do the back on his less than 1/5 acre lot.

I love my lawn, and doing yard work. But, if you think about it, it's probably the stupidest thing we do. Money, time, effort, and now pollutions we do so people can drive by and say. "nice yard"

I agree- we need a better way, but I don’t want a rock yard.

My great grandma had a small fenced in front yard with chickens. What I remember about it was that it was just hard packed dirt. If a sprig of grass started growing, the chickens or my great grandma would remove it
