Poor thing was probably scared if parked next to a Ford. I'd check for fluids under the rear differential.

after you buy your replacement pair, spend a few minutes with silicon sealing all possible leak points

Quick fix...remove tail light...add two small pinholes to top and bottom of the light...these will be weep / air holes

Remove old bulbs, drain water the best you can, place in direct sun during hottest day of the week or use your oven at 175* for short bursts of time...heat glue / clamp...seal holes with silicone

Replace bulbs...install....then save the $$$ for other things

My 18 had the same thing, was a crack along a seam would let water in...one day my right turn signal was flashing real fast compared to the normal pace, was thinking it was the trailer causing it...then early one morning noticed the light was out back there, looked close and there was water above the bulb caused the bulb to shatter...not wanting to get robbed by the dealer I drilled a small hole at the bottom of the housing to let the water escape, cleaned out the broken bulb and replaced it, works fine now... lol

I wouldn’t do this, I speak from experience all it does is make a huge mess and make it nearly impossible to install if you have to do it again, unless you’re talking about sealing cracks in the light itself.

Thanks! I got it taken care of.

Part of my quandary with this was the cost. The dealer wanted $800 for it. I see genuine Ford (not knockoffs) tail light assembly units offered for $150 or less on the internets. I know dealers gouge on markup of double, triple or quadruple normal price…but good lord, 600%!!!! I thought for sure the internet ones had to be Chinese junk…but no. Bought the real deal for $130.
