I wouldn’t do that with the recession that’s likely coming

It is like running a marathon and you finally have the finish line in sight. My finish line is March 1, 2024. I understand Mud's situation. I spent a lifetime avoiding corporate BS. I had to close my healthcare IT consulting business due to lack of clients and am now spending my last years as a hospital employee. But the finish line was already in sight when I moved here from Texas. Plus it gave me a good way to exit Texas live somewhere else and avoid paying those property taxes in retirement.

Do not do it unless you have a back up plan. These high price's will not change but only get worse in the next few months. If being being abused or bullied at work; fight back (non violence) but be smart about it.

The best time to find a job is when you have one.

I spent 27 years with the same company, all of those years in sales but a couple. Some s years great, some really bad. It will change, best to stick it out if the pay and Benifits are good.

Thanks, Billy

I feel the same way. June of 2024 I can take an early retirement with reduced benefits or try to hold out until June of 2027. We will see how things are when the time comes but if they are like they are now, I’m gone early. Too much BS to even want to be around coworkers.

If you are not thinking retirement, there are lots of jobs out there apparently.

If you are thinking retirement, I did early retirement back in early 2013. Best thing I ever did. It took several years to build up the nest-egg, and made sure I had the right retirement revenue streams kicking in a certain times.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

I have a very interesting opportunity that is being discussed. I have a couple of concerns though. The new company I am looking into is much smaller than where I currently work. Once they become a PITA for the larger companies like mine, someone will probably buy them. My other concern is a possible recession. I have 15 years where I am and could probably survive a few rounds of layoffs before they got to me. I wouldn’t want to be the new guy, they always get cut first. I think I would make a decent amount more money if I left, it I don’t think the benefits would be as good. I think I could have a very positive impact with the new company though.

I am very burned out right now and it’s hard to want to do the job everyday. I want to do something else.
