Can you tell me where these wires go that are not connected in the picture to make all the switches and accessories work right. They should go on the top switch...[main power.]

There's a red power connected to the top switch which is the main power on and off under it is the horn then below that the other switches for.pumps and lights. The question is focused on the top one and 3rd one down..the rest seem untouched..if you can see in thenpitcture there are a few wires not connected..There is a purple and red coupled together. And a black by itself and also a black jumper that was connected to the 3rd switch down the jumper tab broke. When I plug the jumper in the top switch on the tab to the left of the red wire and connect to the other end to the 3rd switch it will illuminate the red lights on the switches but nothing comes on switches do nothing..if i connect the red and purple wire to the tab left of the red wire i heard a bunch of things come on and it freaked me out so i took off as soon as it got power switcyes were off..but no fuse blew..Also I tried connecting the main ground on the tab to the left of the red wire and it blew the fuse. But putting the black on the tab to the right of the red wire didnt blow the fuse...I think the main issue is 1st off is the main red wire on the right tab..if not which tab? were does the purple and red coupled wire go and then where does the lone black ground wire go...and then which one to use jump down to which tab on the switch below the horn?

wasnt sure if it was in the right place...  Somehow these got all fd up...it might have been my kid playing under there or probly the last guy who worked on it..maybe the damn cat got tangled in there I really don't know...but if you could just point me to where to reconnect these wires correctly...been trying to take the kids out on this boat and keep having issues..and I dont want to keep blowing fuses trying different combinations of wire placement before I fry something major..

Thanks so much for your help..

Shawn

First question to ask is "what's not working"?

Tough question. If you weren't the original buyer, which it seems you're not, who knows what those wires do. Unfortunately, used boats don't come with wiring diagrams. I'm dealing with this exact same thing on a boat I inherited from my dad. I wish there was an easier answer, but in my experience, the only way to solve this question is with time, patience and a good digital voltmeter. What happens to me is that I have to start taking things apart and tracing wires. Then, once its all taken apart, I realize that there is a better way to do it. 40 hours later, I've rewired the entire boat.
