My Optimax has a water pick up on the nose. I have never run it on the hose. Do I need special muffs or can I just run it on the regular ones.

You can run it on regular muffs BUT you have to duck tape the holes on the nose. I know as I have one and have done it several times. Make sure you do it when the nose is dry or the tape will not stick. Don't plan on running it long.

I have done as many as I can count on my hands and missed the water tube when stabbing the lower once.

Thanks Hop, I figured there was something out there were motors with pickups in the nose cone.

Like mentioned above, I also use duct tape, works good enough.

I filled a big can with water and supported the front with a saw horse. I put my muffs on and turned water on. Now have 3 to 4 PSi at idle versus gauge barely moving. I was planning to change it when weather cooled but it was over due. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/06/full-6989-141719-20220606_100435.jpg)
