Our custodians don't get enough recognition. I always thank them when I can. We have had some NASTY NASTY things at the university....things I wish I could unsee! I am just grateful I didn't have to clean it. These are grown *** kids doing it, too, not youngsters. sick barf

I spent 13 years cleaning up after them and some nasty teachers as well. If I had a nickel for every time I was asked "how do you do it" I would own a dozen boats with matching trucks.

One of the worst ones happened just before Covid. I don't know if someone was performing an exorcism in that stall, or what exactly happened, but let's just say the waste was on the ceiling, on the walls of the stall, the toilet, the floor, the toilet paper holder, everywhere. The student worker that found it went and put an "Out of Order" sign on the door and the building manager called custodial services over our walkie talkies...A little while later a custodian comes over and they tell them what has happened. The custodian went and looked, walked out and said something along the lines of "I'm gonna need a minute before I can go back in there." They had to basically hose it down and then the ceiling tiles had to be replaced. People are freaking nasty!

When I was a manager at Zales home office one of the chicks that worked for me came back in and said some woman had taken a dump on the floor.

The most thankless job that I can think of are the people in California that thought up the idea to call a bee a fish and get on the protected list. I’m sure those people worked very hard and their hard work goes unnoticed!!!

Thanks, Billy

"Jobs that seem to be under appreciated"

Thinking about it, a job I could/would never do, but when you get a good one you appreciate them. Those people that have to take customer service calls. I can't imagine what they go through every day as the take complaint after complaint.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

They are called customer advocates now. Nice title, same crappy job.
