This is bad news.
Haven't been bit by one of those spotted ticks in decades but it obviously didn't transmit this AGS to me. I love most any kind of animal tissue (except lamb) and eat it without issues.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Neighbor got Lyme disease. He fought it for at least a year. He was taking several meds.

Yep A buddy of mine has had it for years. Only allergic to beef. Its weird, can even walk into a butcher shop and has about 20 minutes before he has a full blow out.

My wife got this about 15 years ago. She can eat a little chicken and venison but if she eats beef she is on the way to the hospital.

A few people around the Lake Ozark area have this, its pretty unnerving. I have a handful of bites on me right now from turkey season.

I was talking to a client about this on Friday. They are in the ROTC and about to head out for their last outing in Kentucky before graduating. They were complaining about all the ticks and I asked if they had ever heard of the lone star tick. They had not. I warned them about the tick. Odd there is a thread about this now...maybe Mudshark can make me a foil hat like his

I will never forget when a buddy of mine that was working in the woods around Waco told me he had to use a mirror to see the ticks in his crack to remove them.

Well I guess I'm the TFF specimen. I got bit by 2 of those ticks yesterday. One was a fresh bite, the other was on me about 6 hours.
