I picked up some VMC Duolock (Size 2) for my crankbaits and was wondering if I should be using these on my Vision 110/110 Jr's as well? I know the Vision 110s are very carefully balanced, so I'm wondering if adding the snap would ruin the balance of the bait. What do you guys think? Also...it looks like most guys keep the split ring on and just attach the snap to that?

Thanks

I didn’t even know using those snaps was a thing on any bait.

Personally I would never add a snap to a 110. Either use the split ring or a loop knot. The 110 is built as a complete package for the best performance possible. Even small changes can affect the bait. If you change the hooks to a non Katsuage hook then make sure you are taking hook thickness into account as well. The Katsuage hooks are specifically made for the 110. It comes stock with #6 hooks but you can upside to a #4 Katsuage as well.

I fish 110's a lot, all winter long. I always use a small snap as I often change colors during the day. A small snap does not affect the action of the 110 in a negative way. It might even help, In the winter a dying shad has a nose down attitude. A small snap insures the 110 maintains a nose down attitude.

Same here, when your hands are so cold you can’t tie a knot it’s a no brainer.

I have fishing them like crazy the past 2 months --- an amazing bait for sure . NO SNAPS for me . two weeks ago the bite for me was letting it sit for 20-30 seconds after the first set if jerks . Once the wind picked up I could go a little faster . I lost an 8+ last time out .
My only complaints are breaking the lips . I had a brand new one break off using it for 30 minutes and it was in no way from rocks . I HATE spending $25 on a bait that has such low quality .
I have never had a single Lucky Craft or Rapala break off the lip

I always use a snap on jerks and cranks and can’t imagine not using one. I like changing colors and a snap makes this easy. I have had no issues using my 110’s with a snap

Thanks Mark ,
I didn't realize you were affiliated with Megabass . As I stated earlier , the 110's flat out catch bass . I have only been using them for approx 1 year . Used to be a big fan of Lucky Craft fan until I had a massive day on a Megabass 110 . I will send them the lure with the form filled out ---hopefully they can replace it , I only used it for maybe 30 minutes .

No worries at all. My main concern is if you have an issue with one of our products I wanted to make sure to share our customer service link. I would email them viathat form and they will reach out pretty quickly and let you know how to proceed. Thanks

I use VMC touch-lok snaps on $6 Red Eye Shads to $75 glide baits. No worries here, and no failures.

I take off the split ring and use a Size 1 Touch-lok for vision 110s.

Size 1 - Rated to 68lbs
Size 2 - Rated to 94lbs
