I was out today for the first time since late March. There is some grass but it is not doing very well. The same places the grass was thick in March now the grass is almost gone. I really believe whatever they used to kill it a couple years ago is still killing it. There are a couple of places it has showed up but pretty shallow like 7 foot. It is really disheartening

Hydrilla cycles in all lakes, some good years some bad, water clarity is a lot of problem this year at HC due to the high winds. There is a lot more grass than people are aware of, it's in deeper water 12- 15 ft.Call and talk to TPWD in Abilene about when they sprayed. Year before last they told me they sprayed around the public ramps and didn't spray the fort worth cut.

The person that told you that either doesn't know how much was sprayed or is not telling the truth. Yes, there is some grass, but a heck of a lot less than years past, I mean a lot less.

They had a couple of boats out spraying. Good luck finding grass much deeper than 10 foot.

it doesnt seem to hurt the fishing with the amounts that is taking to win tournaments out there. When the grass goes away which is what we are seeing now - the fishing will be good (for a while) since it concentrates the fish to what cover is left. It will hurt the fishery down the road. just like Amistad when they dropped the water so fast it killed the hydrilla.
