Looking for a new Castnet on the smaller easy throwing side for 11 yo grandaughter. She will primarily use on boat ramps and shallow shorelines to try to get some live bait.
Been a while since I had one it was cotton and soaked in Creosote to preserve catching Mississippi mullet. Lost it in Hurricane Camille.

Man, i would suggest you get her a 4 foot "easy throw" cast net from Fitec. It will be easier for her and help her to understand how one works. Depending on her size it won't take long for her to graduate to a regular 5 footer. Good luck and stay with it! We need all the little catfishers we can get for the future of our sport!

Skeetmaster's advice is good. Start small. More important I think start with a lighter net so she doesn't get fatigued trying to learn. It is going to take some time and a lot of throwing and you don't want her to get too tired to keep going...

Didn't even notice. Thanks for pointing that out. It is a milestone...
