 12v 30 amp relays

i have 94 evinrude 40hp the wiring has 3 of these relays what are they for does it need 3

If it came from the factory with three, then it probably needs them.

Get on eBay and order a factory service manual, it will have all the info and wiring diagram’s you’ll need for everything on your motor. Just make sure the manual matches your serial number. Just bought one for my son’s first boat with a 1996 Johnson 50 hp.
