Used a 3 hour window to do the first drive up, wade, & fish of 2022 on Friday the 20th along the east CC bay shoreline.
Winds were serious at 25-30 at times.
Used brownies, wanting to catch slot sized black drum if possible.
Found an area holding fish & picked up 7 trout, some undersized up to old size min of 15", one right at the 17" min, & one beauty at 23"-24" close to 3 lbs. Also caught two undersized reds at the same spot as well as the complimentary skippie.
Moved out to a sand bar where drum like to hang out but nothing there of targeted fish, which was a bit surprising.Missed some fish that felt like trout, but ???
Time ran out before could scout further for fish at the bar.
Total catch, 7 trout, 2 reds, 1 skippy, all released. Won't keep any bay trout until 2023 restrictions are lifted, so no pictures as I don't bring phone on the water. Surf trout is a different story, will keep a few of those if fortunate enough.
Liked the areas fished, with more time would have found more fish. At least that's the way I think things will happen.
Fun to get wet & catch a few fish.

Big fan of slot black drum. What are "brownies"? Live brown shrimp Yep, slot blackies eat better than just about anything in the bay.
