These trees have branches that have a very long reach on them. The branches will have to be removed before I can fit the trunk between the house and the fence, I can’t cut the branches with a 10 foot saw, even if I were to stand on the ladder.

FWIW, I have the Milwaukee pole saw only because every battery operated tool I use now is Milwaukee. The pole is a little short, but it reached everything I needed it to, and it had plenty of power to make quick work of topping out the trees that needed thinning.

I am getting the 16 foot manual saw after work and am going to make my kids crank on it while I stand back and hold the rope. I had dreams of just setting that little chainsaw blade 14 feet in the air and pulling a trigger to make it work but that’s not going to happen now. I’m feeling kind of low about it.

I have the Craftsman. It works fine. A little heavy after a while with all 3 sections.

Danny, I have a 12 foot fiberglass step ladder and hand saw on a tele-scoping pole you can use.

Thanks Scott. I placed an order for the saw, but I might need a monster ladder. I will let you know. You can come and watch if you want.
