By the end of this week we will be in a bear market and the recession has already begun.

Gas prices will be the nail in the coffin. Consumer spending will plummet. Housing...well if you were thinking about selling do it really quickly. Its all going to slow way down... do not look at your 401ks for the next 18 months or so, it will depress you.

Makes me glad that the annuity part of my retirement portfolio is Lock Step. Even when the market goes down, the payment never does. My IRA is all house money. Took out the initial investment years ago and have been enjoying free money from it for several years. Bear Markets are good. Makes for buying opportunities in the near future after the corrections are done.

I have been 80%+ cash in my 401k for some time. Missed out on some gains but I'm darn sure gonna hold til this thing gets a good bit lower to get back in. We bought 1 rent house per year in 2019, 2020, and 2021, but not buying one in 2022. I did do a cash-out refi on my rental mortgages to lower rates and pull cash out for more investments. Thinking we will pick up a few more in 2023/2024 and be done for good after that.

I agree that the market is headed south for the duration of Biden's first term. I expect Desantis or Trump to be elected in 2024 and the market to improve fairly quickly after that. But I'm looking into a hazy crystal ball like everyone else

Other than selling in a down market there isnt much to do. Dont fall into the trap of buying high and selling low on panic. Sometimes you just have to wait, or better yet buy stocks on sale.

Tha its kind of my thought. When everyone is looking to unload stuff and take losses I am a buyer. I want to double down.
