Looking for SK or anybody else that's been using the latest update and if it fixed your problems? I fished with my buddy last weekend and it seemed like the dead zone was gone. Will be updating mine the next time I see my boat.

My Garmin 106sv gave me a fit last week and I had to do the update to see if it would be better......I don't see anything with update 20 that's fixed much.....I still have a black spot at times and my beans still don't line up at times..... One day it gives me a great reading the next not so much..... I'm dealing with a heavy thermocline here so I haven't did much recording as my unit is ugly although it still allows me to catch fish......
I finally was able to calibrate my AHRS but that's a whole nother topic......UUUUGH
It's seems as Garmin has a button over there that really messes with my unit to make me do these updates.....
I've seen that the calibration did help line my beams up but it didn't last long.....
I've also heard from one of the Garmin techs that the livescope transducer wasn't designed to work on the TM motor barrel but they include a mount for it to go on there......
Also not sure if I posted I replaced my lvs32 with a new lvs32..... Still need improvement.....

What is the date of the latest software update? I updated mine one year ago because I had to, it was not working. I was never able to calibrate my AHRS as SK speaks off... I was having issues after the update, thought calibrate my AHRS would fix, never could calibrate it, and found out that was not the issue. Can't say the image is better, in fact I would say it is probably worse. Maybe calibrate my AHRS is what I need to do, I'm afraid I may mess it up again.

I don't use AHRS and I don't calibrate. I don't have the need or even see the use for them. I know where my transducer is pointing. My transducer (lvs 34) is on the shaft of my Ultrex and will stay there. I found a group of settings I like, they don't cause any issues and I tweak very little from there. Keep it simple, reset factory defaults and go from there. I do have the 20.00/2.58 update on my 102sv and black box.

What is the need for AHRS and to calibrate? I guess the 20.00/2.58 is the latest and greatest software, did you see an image resolution improvement?

AHRS not only gives you the direction your transducer is pointing (THAT DON'T WORK ACCURATELY) but more importantly it assist the unit line up the sonar beams to give you a better clearer reading......
Most units nowadays is not set a forget and get maximum use out of them.....

Hey if you still have the dead zone (I call The Void) try this. It works with any version that people have tested. Actually what garmin recommends anytime doing the update. To me it is a little extreme but when I have the issue it works. I had a void from about 4-12 foot and tried this and it worked, fixed everything.
