HELP!
This nut on outboard shaft is "loose" -- it isn't tightened down all the way, has maybe a 1/8" gap. Is this the way it's supposed to be? There's one on each side of the shaft and they're both like this.

Whoever was last to change your water pump left it loose. Tighten them up as they hold your lower unit on.
