This is pretty much why I'm not going to bother with a protest.
Just like in the case mentioned from the OP, if they want to say NO, then all they have to do is say NO. Even if they are dead wrong. And there's nothing you can do about it.

Why, Texas is a non disclosure state? Assuming you are saying they sold the home after fixing it up.

#1. Permits. The city/county knows what was done during the remodel.
#2. Chip and Joanna. They made a statement at the end of each show that the home buyer bought the house for X amount. Then spent Y amount for renovations. Now their house is worth Z amount.

Gotta love all this

As the Senior hearing officer of a Boad of Adjustment of a major Arizona County, for over 16 years , my tears just flow for all of you., can just imagine your telling me the tax value of your maintenance neglected personal homes should be lowered and the other County home owners should have that burden placed on them. Of course that is only if you use the condition of your own property as a reason to lower value.

You bettcha!

The loan amount is on the deed of trust which is a public document.

Loan down payments are not a fixed situation. You can literally put down from 0-99 percent depending on the product so how does that spill the beans? Over 1/4 of homes in DFW right now at any price point are selling cash as well.
