Took a little break from the saltwater on the coast after the sheepshead moved on and the wind kicked up, and decided to make a trip that I've been wanting to do for 5 years; fish Barton Springs in Austin, Texas. It's so pretty and I know there are some good bass up in there. What I didn't realize is how weird Austin has gotten over the years... had to learn that lesson the hard way!

I have been wanting to film underwater there since 2006... made my day to finally be able to do so. Had some really dumb issues breaking in a new waterproof housing, gotta get that rectified for the next round. But man it was nice getting in the water to film again. Been too long.

Excellent underwater cam Stanley!! Austin has gotten too weird for me. I had fun there in the 90's, but now... No way. My daughter just returned home from school in Austin for a year and is transferring to UCO in Oklahoma. She loved the hill country, but hated Austin.

Man I really enjoyed my time in Austin... it's really pretty. But I don't think I could do it again. Too much 'weird.' It was really uncomfortable watching everyone destroy that place later in the afternoon.

Keep Austin Weird wasn't just a catchy phrase, it was their goal. We haven't been there since 2013 and there were people shooting up on the sidewalk way back then. Hope I never have to go there again.

Oooooh that hasn't changed. We were there for a school tournament (my wife led the Science team to the state competition) and our hotel was two streets over from 6th street. Our room had a direct view of 6th and man... man was it rough looking. The buildings/businesses were normal but the crowd was looking scabby.

It's not just me then... I mean it got crowded when I lived there circa 2006 but not like this. This was something different altogether.

Loved the underwater footage. I fish the creek almost every Sunday morning from the pool to the main lake. I get there at sunrise and I'm out of there before the real weirdness starts (though I have run into the UT overweight women's naked ganja smoking team once or twice). Those big bass are tough...the water is so clear the only thing that words for me small baits fished slowly.
