It was 103 during the day Saturday, so we waited till the evening to hit the water. Water level is dropping fast and islands are popping up. Kinda scary when you see a boat hauling ars across the lake.
We headed to a new cove we found last weekend that is infested with sunfish. We also caught smallies, channel cats and lmb. The bite was hot. We were chunking 1/32 JIGLYF jigs, any dark color was working even at night.

We fished till 2am and left them biting. We caught 213 fish. It was an awesome evening/night. We kept some of the bigger sunfish for a fish fry. The rest were released to swim another day.

To answer your question.... almost, some of the females have eggs and some of the males peeing.

Of all the females I fileted only 3 had eggs. Kinda weird 😕

The Redbreasts tend to want warmer water and plenty daylight time to do their spawning duties so they tend to spawn later in the year, but those you have will probably be spawning around the next new moon. Excellent trip and catches from the evening & the night for y'all! Jiglyf jigs! Catching everything that swims!!
