Well, the time has come to say goodby to Sandy Too. Bought her new in February of 2017. We fished her hard for 5 years and learned a lot with her taking care of us all the time. Learned some hard lessons, some painful lessons and some not so hard lessons. She always got us home safe and for that I will always be grateful. Her new owner will be just as well cared for as we were and I know the young boy whose dad bought her will have lots of good memories in her.

Last night I told BCB that when I got her, I was worse at catching bait than he is. lol. But the truth is I studied hard I practiced hard I cussed (a lot) Iand I mastered it. I did that with every aspect of the sport. For me, It wasn't just about fishing I was new to blue cat fishing and to boating. Over the last 5 years I have learned a huge amount.

The day I caught my first 10 pounder then twenty, then thirty then forty, fifty and now sixty will be etched in my mind until the day I die. I have been blessed by this sport and I'd like to think I've been a blessing to others through it. And it all started with Buying Sandy Too.

I'm gonna miss her.

Back last summer I was starting out on Blue Cat'n and never had a freakin' clue.

This guy who calls himself Catfish Tim took pity on me and offered to take me out in his boat, Sandy Too. I took him up on his generous offer and had the best days fishing I had ever had, caught a WHOPPER but more importantly met this friendly giant of a man who would become my good friend.

I have been blessed to have joined Tim on his boat many many times now, from 100F heat to freezing our @sses off below freezing, and catching a whole boat load of monsters here on Lake Lavon.

I am going to miss that boat!

You were truly blessed!
You learned, and caught more big cats than most have caught in a lifetime!
Good luck with your new ventures! thumb

In case you didn't realize, all those pics Tim posted of those kids posing with big cats are Tim's family, his kids and grandkids. Tim has a big family and regularly takes them out fishing in his boat.

What you dont see are pictures of Tim. Well, as a picture taking fool I took a few!

Tim works hard and is going to enjoy the fruits of his labors by buying a boat most of only dream about, a mighty Targa 19.

To say he is excited is the understatement of the year!!!!

banana

I asked Tim how many Catfish came into his old boat. It literally must be thousands of pounds of Blue Cat's, enough to sink the boat many times over - lol!

Tim, Sandy Too has delivered a LOT of memories to quite a few people. One of them was mine. You taught me how to pull boards on her. Unfortunately, I didn't get to fish from her much. I'm hoping Dock will be the memory maker for me! It's funny how attached we get to our boats. Just think of all the memories Sandy will bring to her new owner! There's a young man that will cut his fishing teeth on her. Can't wait to see the inaugural photos of Dock Holliday!

I am betting that Tim is dreaming about that fancy new boat when his head hit's the pillow, every night right now.

Tim's old boats motor was twice as big as my boats, and his new Targa has a motor twice as big as his old boats. There is so much real estate on that boat he is going to have to get walkie talkies to speak to the crew.

'Hey BCP, you need to come to the back of the boat, I need the net again, over'.

Don't forget me... Never made it on Sandy Too, but hope to catch a ride on the new one.

Congrats on the new boat, and memories are forever - and the older we get, the more they are worth!

take care,

Ken
