Couple of options:
Use a medium and a medium heavy spinning rod with moderate actions for throwing lighter crankbaits into the wind.
The bigger/heavier magnum squarebills dive about 10ft. Bomber Deep fat free shad square bill, 6th sense Cloud 9, and Strike King make some. Cast a mile into the wind. I never use spinning equipment on crank baits. No reason for it. Oh no you didn't go there! Ahhh hell nah you did NOT go there!!

Yall keep throwing those baits. Especially the Rapala DTs, the 6th Sense and the Strike Kings... all good baits no doubt.
But the more you throw those the more my Bomber Model A's quietly slay. A slightly more subtle action and sound that they dont see 956 times a week. The stock hooks are hot trash. Change those and the split rings and the things are indestructible...not that you would ever bang a crankbait off concreate or rip rap etc. but if your buddy did, your bait will 100% be fine.

Spro Rock Crawler. I think it is the 55 model that goes 10 foot. It is a killer bait.

Oh double hell to the nah you did not just all cap me son... talking jive about spinning reels. No you didnt! Dan....you can use whatever you like. I don't care. I don't use spinning reels unless i am fishing for crappie. When I am fishing for bass I have no need to use spinning tackle, but like I said, use whatever you like to use. I am not bashing spinning equipment, all I said is that I DON'T USE IT FOR BASS FISHING. Why can't you understand that???????? Maybe you should go back to grade school and learn how to read. I stated that I don't use spinning tackle for crank baits but that is just because I like bait casters better for everything. Like I said, I don't care what you choose to use, it does not affect me at all. Can you comprehend that at all?????
