What are your top baits to throw at individual fish on livescope?

I've found a decent group of fish (keeper sized not giants) feeding on shad balls and I've been targeting them with a dropshot. I've caught a few but most of them seem to follow it to the bottom and not commit. Is there a way to get these fish to eat? Reaction baits? Swimbaits?

If they are feeding on shad, why are you not throwing an imitation of what they are eating?

I have a fluke on the dropshot. But what shad imitators have you seen success with on livescope?

They’ll be some specific designed baits just for livescope coming up at Icast

just throw a weightless senko at them. When it falls into the strike zone, keep it there. No sense in making them chase down to the bottom.

For the livescope to really pick them up...you need a dense material. Many of the baits today just don't provide that "profile" you'd like to see on the screen.

As said above, I have a feeling the bait companies are going to go ballistic with this soon.

Either your bait isn't in the transducer cone or your setting are way off. I can see a 3" dinger on a dropshot 50-60' out.

You can catch suspending/feeding fish with a drop shot too, fishing it on the bottom is not a hard rule. Shoot, I've caught fish feeding on the surface while I was holding a dropshot before when there just wasn't enough time to grab something else. Now, I'm not saying that a drop shot is the best way to do it, I'm just saying that it can also be swam higher in the water column if need be.

Tackle companies catch more fisherman than fish.

Takes a little luck but I was able to see a 3" swimbait on a 1/4oz jighead at 60ft out. LS32 transducer with a 93SV. I struggle to see a drop shot if there is any moss/grass on the bottom hiding the weight. Jerkbait and A-rig are two good "livescope" baits as well.

I find that works pretty good at picking off schooling fish, but I still get plenty of followers. It's tough to get those followers to commit because you can't make the bait do much of anything else during the retrieve. I'm playing with the zman "willowvibe" as a way to impart some more erratic action when i get a follower, we'll see how it plays out.

Plastics with some embedded metallic bits would certainly help. I really struggle seeing something like a magdraft on the screen that is just primarily dense plastic.

If they are feeding on shad, a spoon would be easy to track on live sonar.
