I'm not trying to be ugly here...for some time now I have been cussing at the windshield as i drive around the Dallas metro-mess and see the countless multi-thousand unit apartment complexes going up in every community, we have a bunch here in Wylie...and all I can think of is there is no way there is that kind of demand for apartments, especially when the vast house farms keep growing as far as the eye can see...then the fears get confirmed....... section 8 housing... i remember a certain occupier in the White House made a teleprompter speech of how bad it was that people fled the cities in favor of the suburbs and took the tax dollars with them, and how his dream was to do just what this is shaping up to be... https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/joe-biden-white-house-housing-renters/2022/05/16/id/1070014/

Great. Big brother enters the home building business.

If they can't get supplies to build now, just think what it will take to build with more regulations.

And some neighborhoods with same roof line only flipped on next Hse . We in Longview 7 miles North with some acreage, I can pee in back or front yard. But it moving out this way .

back in the 70s we used to frame homes that were a flip design, same roof, mostly same interior but outside would change up to rock from siding or a combo of both.

the realtor we built for had 75 lined out for us when the 80 bank crash happened, look up penn square bank fail, it took out a lot of folks in Okie city.

I remember watching them bulldoze huge complexes down and put them in a burn pit and burning them for weeks out on I30 before you got to Hubbard. Danny Faulkner was a legend in his on mind.

Bringing the Democrat vote to your District. They can place voters where they want them. Which party do you think the majority in Section 8 housing votes for? They can turn a red area blue.

They can’t just move from blue to red. They have to backfill the blue area. Hello open border.

You have to give them credit. They play the long game to get power.

The two women in my life over the last 8 years each work for a different city, one in Richardson, one in Plano.

The horrendously ugly mega-box apartment monstrosities have come up in countless conversations, including during city planning meetings.

The hoards of people moving to North Texas is one reason for the countless complexes, and the city managers crave "numbers" due to tax revenue!

The digital age, computers, is the reason they are so ugly. It's easy to design them on a computers by virtue of "boxism."

There is no "architecture and landscaping" in the "apartment/condo/townhouse" industry anymore.

The rats need cages, bottom line, and "beauty is NOT a necessity"!

Grand Prairie is throwing up apartments left and right.
Got a house on a double lot? It will be purchased, demolished and two homes built on zero lot lines.
Cookie cutter shopping centers with discount stores. More fast food trash restaurants. Dollar stores on every corner.
But it’s progress right….

We've lived in GP going on 12 years now and the last 5 or so have made it almost unlivable. Just check out your neighborhood on Nextdoor and see the morons (lefties) are taking over. My ammo purchases have gone up simultaneously!

I have a section 8 house at the very end of our street . It is owned by an Indian guy whose brother works in City Government . It is not supposed to be in our neighborhood but the brother got it passed .
I can't tell you how many scumbags have lived in there . The trick they play , is get someone approved for the section 8 qualifications and before you know it the entire family lives in it . 10-12 people common for a 3bed 2 bath house . We have had a shooting in this house , robberies from the tenants , drug dealing ---you name it . A family of latinos that lived there 8 years ago , ripped all the copper plumbing out , poured cement in the toilets , and trashed the walls etc..... In steps the Government to pay for the repairs and in comes the next scumbag family

Millions of foreclosed homes during the 2008 financial collapse are now rentals. They were all bought by the finance industry that was bailed out by the government.

These homes are unavailable for first time buyers. They are rentals owned by large corporation. These home rental corporations are buying up large swath of new homes as they expand and easily compete with the average home buyers driving up prices and availability of new homes.

The Bush-Obama bail-outs after the 2008 economic collapse was a tragedy for Main Street and a huge gift to Wall Street.

Both Democrats and Republicans are to blame for that democracy shaking fiasco.

The middle class, and in particular, first time home buyers are being forced into apartments where they also compete with real estate speculators and Airbnb operators. That’s the main reason for the explosion of apartment buildings.

Nobody gets rich off of developing low income and Section 8 housing.

Follow the money.

Quote
A 2018 Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas study noted that Texas has the highest retention rate of any state, with 82% of people born in Texas still living in the state. That means about 3,800 more people move into Texas than leave – every single week.

There is also a massive migration from other states. The stat above is from 2018, and it’s only been increasing, I’m sure.

Of course history shows they won't pay their loans for college or homes...housing collapse of 2008 comes to mind as the last time Democrats forced this type of scheme on the public.
