I am usually out at the lake with the boat camping in the motorhome one or two weeks per month starting in April all the way into November. I haven't been once this year and I'm blaming the wind. Has it been worse this year or have I turned into an unmotivated wimp. It seems like the wind is always blowing 20+ this year but maybe I'm just getting old and lazy.

It’s windy every spring; but this year, add 5-10mph.

Most years we get wind March to end of May, then three weeks of nice weather before it gets hot.
This year, we’ve gone from wind straight into heat.

There was a report out several weeks back that stated this has been the windiest spring ever recorded in DFW history....average wind speed for the whole year, daytime and night time included, was 15.6mph.

Just you. first I’ve heard of any wind this year.

Like not fishing because of windy conditions...if you wait for no wind, you might not go fishing.....I hear rain and heat bothers people when they get old.

BTW I'm 62 and cold is a little rough on me...makes me put on gloves.

Try the Panhandle of Texas, If you can find water....you find wind.

I used to watch the wind much closer than I do now... May 15 in south Florida is when I would tell folks to plan their fishing vacations if you wanted to have high percentage of fishable time on the water. Seems about the same in east Texas.

I just fish it. It's frustrating and I've had days where it was so aggravating to deal with that I wondered if I'd forgotten how to cast accurately. The last couple of trips out were really bad. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a cast, but it was just the wind.

Its been blowing 20-40 pretty much everyday for a month down here in Corpus. You guys up there got it good.
