Been going past it since I was a kid and never fished it. I remember hearing it had an algae bloom and was pretty dead. Anyone have any info on hoe it's fishing these days? I know a guy who catches a few two pounders there when he goes, but nothing worth the gas money.

It's fishing just fine. They had a small golden algae bloom this past February but it didn't seem to do much harm.

Any three plus pounders in there?

A few weeks ago it was kicking out multiple 20-25 lb stringers and several 6-8 lb fish.

It’s definitely a solid lake. Spawn is probably about wrapped up there now.

I find it is a bit tougher post spawn and in the summer, but there are definitely good fish to be had.

Two weeks ago I went out to prefish a tourny. Only stayed 3 hours and best 5 went 19#. Last weeks tourny I probably caught 30 but almost all were small, like in the 2-3 pound range.. Had one that went 7-8 and lost it at the boat, wasn't my day.
