Did you guys hear Steve A last night? It was Harden’s second-half performance that really drew the ire of Smith.
"That performance by James Harden requires an investigation. How in God’s name you go 22 minutes in the second half and attempt one shot. It was a horrific performance. Anemic and impotent performance by James Harden," Smith said after the game. "And I’m really interested in seeing what the Philadelphia 76ers are going to do with Doc Rivers because I smell something and it don’t smell right at all."

I know playoffs are different, but it is hard to believe the Mavs had not beaten the Suns since 2019, but all of a sudden they are beating up on them in the playoffs?

I know playoffs are different, but it is hard to believe the Mavs had not beaten the Suns since 2019, but all of a sudden they are beating up on them in the playoffs? Different years are different teams and this year the Mavs have a better team than they have in a long time. Also if you look, the last time they played Phoenix the team was much different than it is today. The Porzingas trade gave them several key players.

if there's a chance of game 7 (big ratings), it usually happens Phoenix won their first round in 6, as did Dallas. Boston won their first round in 4, Milwaukee in 5. I could go on. Define "usually".

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but does anyone else think Playoff games are rigged for monetary gain? The thought just crossed my mind last night watching the Mavs, it seemed to me like the Suns played very passively last night. Just one of those thoughts that made me go hmmmm.....$$$$ I do not think there is anything nefarious with the Mav's/Sun serious, unless the refs favor teams to make it go 7, some refs may do that subconsciously...

usually..as in it seems that way to me! Since the inception of the NBA, 134 game sevens have been played. Of those, seven went into overtime, and one into double overtime. Twenty-eight game sevens have been won by the road team.[7] Every active NBA franchise has played in at least one game seven. There have been 12 playoff seasons in which no game sevens were played: 1947, 1949, 1950, 1953, 1956, 1958, 1967, 1972, 1983, 1985, 1989, 1991, and 1999. The 1994, the 2014 and the 2016 postseasons held the record for most game sevens played, with five. In 1979, 1981, 1988, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2018 and 2020 four game sevens were played. The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks both hold the record for most game sevens played in a single postseason, having played three game sevens in 1988 and 1994, respectively, the maximum possible at that time.

Finals: 19 Game 7s (25.3%)
Conference finals: 36 Game 7s (28.1%)
Conference semifinals: 58 Game 7s (26.9%)
First round: 29 Game 7s (19.1%)
