5/10/2022: Started out at 1:30 pm to scout the south end of CC. The 1st place I checked was Greenhouse Ridge, and it was loaded. I parked on top and caught fish in every direction and straight down. The top of the Ridge is 25 fow. I have been trying to get our new pastor and his kids out on the lake with me, so I texted an invite to meet me at Star Harbor ramp when the kids get out of school. To my delight, he took me up on the offer and would meet me at 4:30. I spent the next couple of hours looking for more places that held fish and found some at Dam Ridge and Pitts Point. But I never had to use them. I picked them up and we caught fish for 3 hours on Greenhouse Ridge. They had never fished in a boat before, but caught on to bottom fishing for whites right away - and how to work a Mepps. We caught about 115 whites, 5 cats, and a bunch of small yellow bass during the 3 hours - everybody catching. Here are some pics:

A good deed always goes rewarded even if that is not what you were after. Thanks for passing along the gene.

Nice Trip! Wondering about your names for the locations you fish on Cedar Creek, I googled "greenhouse ridge on Cedar creek". Was (not really too) surprised that the results included a Dennis Christian post on TFF from 2012. I've never fished Cedar Creek, but you never know... I may make it up there one day. (Armed with this map and Mepps)

Thanks for your generosity over the years, Dennis!

At the bottom of the post Dennis made, he has a signature area with multiple links. The last link, just above the picture of his boat, is a map of Cedar Creek with many of the locations noted. The map has been updated since the link you posted.

Was out for the weekend and tried a few of the places that Dennis mentioned last week. I have never fished Greenhouse ridge, so i ran around there and had trouble finding the location since the Large CC on the Dennis' map was covering a large area with lots of different terrain. So moved on to Long Ridge where we caught quite a few on Friday and then went back on Saturday. I would say we had about 30 each day there. Went to a few of the Key Ranch spots and found some but not a large concentration. I caught two or three yellow bass at Three Jug Hump. I haven't caught any of those in a few seasons. Great weather each day until about 2 when it started to feel a but august-y for mid may.

5/21/2022: I went on a run from 10:40 AM to 4:30 PM to the north today - all the way just past the Seven Points Bridge. It was a good run with 96 counters: 87 white bass, 4 cats, 4 yellow bass, and a short hybrid. I started at Key Ranch but not much there. Then went up the west side and caught fish at Dollhouse Point, Spillway Point, Game Warden Point, Don's Point, Sunken Island, LeRoy's Point, West Bird Island, and the point just north of the bridge. On the way back I checked Enchanted Isle Ridge but not much there, then found some at Spillway Hump. I tried #4 and #2 Mepps and caught about the same number with each. Most fish were in 10 to 15 fow. No boat tapping needed.

Thanks Dennis. I haven't been on the water since I saw you last. I'm going to try to make it out before the weekend crowd hits.

05/23/2022: Pastor David Upchurch and his son Bryson joined me for a trip out on Cedar Creek Lake today from 9 AM until about 2 PM, and we had a great time catching 257 fish: 229 whites, 19 short hybrids, 5 cats, and 4 keeper yellow bass. The best fishing was on the deeper humps like Greenhouse Ridge, Dam Ridge, and Midlake Hump. We also caught some shallow at Campbell's Hump and a hump just west of it. Most were caught on #4 Mepps, but we also caught some on #2, #3, and #5 Mepps. The weather started overcast with a light breeze and turned sunny later - perfect fishing day. Here are some pics:

Memorial day weekend: We went out in the wind and waves 6 trips for visiting kin and friends and caught 352 fish. We had to stay in protected water close to the dam. Even then I had to resort to using an anchor after trolling motor batteries couldn't keep up with the winds/waves for more than 3 hours. Most fish were caught at Greenhouse and Dam Ridges fishing straight down in 24 to 29 fow. Most were white bass, about a 10th were short hybrids, several cats, and only 3 legal hybrids. All caught on #4 Mepps

The wind was relentless last weekend. I did go out to Pitts Point since it is the closest place to my house that is sheltered from the wind. I caught about 30 or so. They were near the roadbed that is on my lowrance unit. Since Dennis posted some fish fry pictures. I thought I would ask the group if anyone had an excellent hush puppy recipe. I've tried tons and just cant find what I'm looking for. Anyone willing to share a family secret?
