New federal regulations require anyone fishing for Reef Fish in the Gulf of Mexico MUST possess a Venting Tool or a Rigged Descending Device on there boat. The tools are for depressurizing fish before release. Red Snapper season opens June 1 in Federal Waters-your daily limit in federal waters is 2 fish per person, 16" minimum Red Snapper season is open year-round in federal waters- your daily limit in state waters is 4 fish per person, 15" minimum.

Watched some of the videos on the returnemright link one in particular was the reel animals talk show and what caught my attention was that Florida received 60% of the annual Red Snapper allocation as opposed to Texas 6% sounds out of proportion ?

thin fillet knife will work..ice pick.....I can't locate a form to fill out for that device. Just talk!! Ice pick could work but not recommend. A fillet knife can slice the bladder and is absolutely not the tool to use. A hollow venting tool is what is needed to do it right. A $2 needle from tractor supply or get a pack from Amazon.
You get out of it what you put into it!
