Non political
Anyone bought into the expected food shortage doom and gloom?
Meat and dairy is expected to be hit the hardest.
Ukraine is responsible for 50% of all fertilizer production and 30-40% of Europes wheat production.
Globally, the US is expected to be in an ok situation considering.
Are you prepared? If not, will you attempt to be or are you planning on not plan?

Haven't seen any food shortages this year yet, just higher prices. Ukraine being the bread basket of Europe will certainly have a larger impact on European countries. We live somewhat prepared. When the food shortages during the Covid shutdowns occurred we didn't feel the impact. Had stocked up at Costco just before the Covid impact hit though. We also put in a good garden each year and do a lot of dehydrating at the end of the growing season so are somewhat self sustaining for a lot of fruits and vegetable items.
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Not bad Emit! I'm an amateur gardener myself and preserve what I can.

Haven't seen much of a food shortage a few empty shelves here and there. But I'm going to get a cow for butchering.

I suppose my answer is I am not doing anything to prepare for what may happen- I am assuming these possible shortages will be short term, if so we should be ok with some adjustments- That being said, if we see it would be long term we live on 20 acres with a pond out in the country, so I believe we could pivot to living more self sufficiently if needed.

Let’s face it. We’ve relied on the world to produce what we as a country have come to expect in our lives. We’ve relied heavily on some pretty suspect countries.
That’s all I can say without getting political

Not a plan here. I am seeing my savings drop and my family needs to change our ways. I hope it is a temporary thing. Change brings opportunity to many of those who seek it out. Even a failing economy makes some people rich. For this reason, I want to be more optimistic for all of our futures.

I've got enough food and water to last my family about a month. We also have an open invite from a good friend who is a prepper with a half cow and half pig in a deep freezer, two generators with 100 gallons of gas, 5 years of non perishables, and a multi acre garden with just about every common vegetable I've heard of and some I haven't. We should be good.

Meat & dairy? With the current administration's focus on the elimination of cow farts I see this as a possibility. Just sayin
Reality. What a concept!

Check current farmers input cost. These increases will come to you next fall.

I have never had a "green thumb" so a garden isn't in my plans, and on a normal sized residential lot a garden wouldn't be big enough to provide much help. I do have a large freezer which has always been stocked well, so we have enough meats to last us a long time, so my plan will be to find whatever veggies are available and I can make a meal.
What I have noticed so far (during the past few months) is that there have been shortages in lots of different areas of the supermarket, but those shift around from shelf to shelf every week. Right now, it's not a shortage, just a temporary out-of-stock. Obviously that could change during the next few months to a year.
My issue is the COST of groceries! My guess is that our grocery bill is up about 15+% over what it was 6 months ago, and rising a bit every week.
Family is everything! Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

We've been stocking up extra canned gods & other dry goods on every grocery trip. Rice & beans & canned veggies may be boring, but you won't go hungry with them.
