5 more lbs. We just needed 5 more lbs to have a 100 lb day on the Tennessee River. The weather was chilly and windy. I stayed in a long sleeve shirt with a wind breaker jacket all day long. The larger fish were caught on fresh skipjack. Using our lightweight spincast rods, we pitched shad next to the cliff face and let if float in the current. The channel cats were more than willing to give us a good fight. It lasted until the gar decided to get in on the shad buffet. We then switched to planer boards and started our cruise back to to Ditto's Landing. The rock bite really turned on in several areas of the river. But we did manage 5 nice fish.

Don with his 26lb flathead. For a while we were convinced it was another rock. It took some time to eventually get this guy off the bottom.

No pics of the 10lb blue Don caught and the three channel cats that weighed 4lbs each. Hopefully next weekend will bring some slightly warmer and less windier weather.

Boats are like Strippers. They work until you quit throwing $100 bills at them.
