My wife really enjoys going to garage sales as a non-fishing activity and I often tag along when I am not fishing. Of course I am usually looking for fishing equipment.  I have found that even if there is not any fishing equipment in the sale, it never hurts to ask if there is any fishing equipment that they have not put out. Sometimes this pays off big. I picked up this stuff from an aging angler that wanted it to go to someone that would enjoy using it.
