new powerhead 16 months old. went out to garage and 2 cycle oil had dripped off of skeg. looked for leak myself could not find. motor is a 07 250HPDI.
motor runs fine just need to know where to look. By the way I cleaned it up and it came back. Have never had a motor do this after 50 years of boating.

Had the same issue recently. It was a hose leading to the secondary oil reserve/pump area under the cowl cover. Just needed to tighten a hose clamp. I worked my way up from the skeg, and it took a while to locate such a simple issue.

Finally leak isolated. Replaced six check valves and after three days there is no evidence of oil leak.
WHEW!
Now anyone interested in buying a 2008 Skeeter 20i?

IT'S BAAAAAAAACK? Just when success had been thought to have been achieved found nice little puddle of oil again on garage floor.
Premature celebration. I really hate this outboard motor.
