Just bought another used Alumacraft Jon Boat. The previous owner had duct tape on it in spots for some reason. The duct tape aged away, but the stringy white parts with the glue are stuck to the boat. Any way, I'd like to eventually repaint it with Krylon camoflouge green paint, so I don't want to use anything that will interfere with the painting.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it off and still be able to paint?

This stuff is amazing. I bought a boat that had a bunch of stickers on it. When I removed the stickers all the adhesive stayed. I tried several things and was concerned about damaging the gel coat. This did the trick. Spray it on. Let it sit for a few minutes then the glue wipes right off.

WD40 worked on an old truck I had similar residue. Good solvent.

I use WD for such tasks being it is of little use as a penetrating oil

There's a chemical I used to use to clean negatives in the darkroom days was PEC-12. It takes sharpee off and saves the negative. Amazing and powerful stuff. https://www.amazon.com/Bundle-Pec-12-Photographic-Cleaner-Photo/dp/B08KTMHNHP/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1Z9T6XLPUI0CN&keywords=pec+12&qid=1652200721&sprefix=pec+12%2Caps%2C105&sr=8-1

My daughter who is in the medical field gave me some adhesive removal pads used in the hospital.

the brand used is PDI Adhesive Remover Pad, but you can find it on amazon. works great.

superzilla!

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
